A - WHAT IS URL ?
- A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is a global address used to locate resources on the internet and it includes a protocol identifier andIP address of the resource.
- The URL contains the name of the protocol to be used to access the resource and a resource name. The first part of a URL identifies what protocol to use. The second part identifies the IP ADDRESS OR DOMAIN NAME where the resource is located.
B - WHAT IS A DOMAIN NAME ?
- A domain name is your website name.
- A domain name is the address where Internet users can access your website.
- A domain name is used for finding and identifying computers on the Internet, It means domain name is the location of a website.
- Computers use IP addresses, which are a series of number. However, it is difficult for humans to remember strings of numbers. Because of this, domain names were developed and used to identify entities on the Internet rather than using IP addresses. For example, the domain name "google.com" points to the IP address "216.58.216.164", but it is generally easier to remember a name rather than a long string of numbers.
- A domain name can be any combination of letters and numbers, and it can be used in combination of the various domain name extensions, such as .com, .net and more.
- Every domain name is unique. No two websites can have the same domain name. If someone types in www.yourdomain.com, it will go to your website and no one else's.
- A domain name can be a maximum of sixty-three characters with one character minimum, and is entered after the protocol in the URL, as you can see in the following example.
- A domain name allows the server to use an SSL certificate, which is responsible for the encryption of data-in-motion between server and device. IP addresses are permitted, but will not support SSL encryption.

C - WHAT IS "PROTOCOL" : -
- Sometimes referred to as an access method, a protocol is a standard used to define a METHOD OF EXCHANGING DATA OVER A COMPUTER NETWORK, such as local area network, Internet, Intranet, etc.
- HyperText Transfer Protocol; which is a used to TRANSMIT DATA OVER THE WORLD WIDE WEB (INTERNET), is "carried" by TCP/IP.
D - WHAT IS IP ADDRESS ?
- An IP address, short for Internet Protocol address, is an identifying number for a piece of network devices as computer, printer, switch, router or any other device that is part of a TCP/IP-based network. Having an IP address allows a device to communicate with other devices over an IP-based network like the internet.
- An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication like the internet.
- An IP address is a logical address that is used to uniquely identify every node in the network.
- Because IP addresses are logical, they can change.
- The numerals in an IP address are divided into 2 parts:
- The network part specifies which networks this address belongs to and
- The host part further pinpoints the exact location.

A domain name is a name that identifies one or more IP addresses. For example, the domain name notifycorp.com represents several IP addresses.
Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. For example, in the URL http://www.notifycorp.com/index.htm, the domain name is notifycorp.com.
D - WHY DOMAIN NAME IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SITE ?
